Ingredients

3 microwave bags (3.3 oz each) plain popcorn (not butter or other flavored)

½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick)

1 bag (10.5 oz) mini marshmallows

1 tsp vanilla extract

19 oz of Brach’s® Milk Maid® Caramel Apple Candy Corn

10 pretzel rods, broken in half

Wax paper

Directions

Line baking sheet with wax paper and set aside until needed.

Pop popcorn per package directions, usually 2 ½ - 3 ½ minutes (or use your microwave’s “Popcorn” button). Discard any unpopped kernels.

Place popped corn in large bowl or pan, add candy corn and toss to combine.

In saucepan, melt butter slowly over low heat.

Add marshmallows and stir until smooth.

Remove from heat, add vanilla and stir until combined (at this point you could also add red food coloring if you want colored “apples”).

Pour marshmallow mixture over popcorn/candy corn mix and stir until mixture is evenly coated.

Grease hands with cooking spray to form mixture into balls by scooping up handfuls and compacting mixture around pretzel rod half. Continue to pack popcorn together – it works much better as mixture starts to cool.

Place popcorn balls with pretzel rod laying flat on pan (it tends to fall apart when upright) and let set until mixture is completely firm.

Hints: once formed, refrigerate to speed up the setting process.

Place clusters in tall vases for a delicious addition to your Halloween party table or wrap in colored cellophane and tie with a piece of raffia for a fun treat.
