Ingredients

1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour

1 ¾ cup quick-cooking oats

½ tsp baking soda

½ tsp kosher salt

¾ cup unsalted butter (1 ½ sticks)

¾ cup sugar

14 oz of Brach’s® Milk Maid® Caramels

1/3 cup evaporated milk

¾ cup chopped pecans

½ cup mini chocolate chips

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

For cookie crust: Line 9”x13” pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil; set aside.

In medium bowl, whisk together flour, oats, baking soda and salt; set aside.

In mixing bowl, beat butter for 30 seconds then add sugar and beat until fluffy.

Add oat mixture and mix until crumbly. Do not over mix.

Reserve 1 cup of mixture and press remainder in prepared pan.

Bake on lowest rack for 10 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 minutes.

For topping: Meanwhile in saucepan, melt unwrapped caramels and evaporated milk over low heat until mixture is smooth.

Spread caramel over partially baked cookie crust.

Sprinkle pecans on top of caramel, then reserved crumbs and finally, chocolate chips.

Bake for additional 15-20 minutes until topping is golden.

Cool in pan on wire rack.

Hint: For best results, chill until firm before cutting.
