Milk Maid® Caramel Apple Crunch

Ingredients
2 cans (21 oz each) apple pie filling
½ tsp kosher salt
½ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1 large egg, lightly beaten
½ cup unsalted butter, melted (1 stick)
15 Brach’s® Milk Maid® Caramels
2 Tbls whole milk
Pinch of kosher salt
1/3 cup coarsely chopped pecans (if desired)
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F.
In 9”x13” pan, combine apple pie filling, ½ tsp kosher salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla.
In a medium bowl, combine flour, sugar and baking powder.
Add egg and with fork mix into the flour mixture until crumbly.
Sprinkle crumb topping on top of apple mixture, spreading evenly.
Pour melted butter on top of crumb topping, as evenly as possible.
Bake for 35 minutes until topping is golden brown.
Meanwhile, in heavy saucepan over medium heat, melt unwrapped caramels and milk until smooth.
Remove pan from oven and drizzle melted caramel over top and sprinkle with the chopped pecans (if desired).
Serve warm or room temperature.
